Felicia Hefney has served in the field of education since 2005 working in various capacities such as elementary teacher, school counselor and parent coordinator. As school counselor, Felicia works directly with students who are identified as "at risk" in terms of emotional and social deficits by providing individual and group counseling centered on developing essential coping skills, fostering improved self-esteem and maintaining healthy friendships.
Throughout her career in education, Felicia has created various programs centered on the improvement of parent-school relationships. Within each initiative, Felicia leads thought provoking seminars centered on topics relevant to raising young children in today's society. Each program serves to enhance participants' parenting toolbox and provide additional strategies for effectively parenting children and teens.
Felicia is also the co-owner of two businesses. One is Boutique 7 LLC, an online clothing boutique specializing in women's fashion. The other is Passion Push Coaching Services LLC, a company designed to provide individual and group coaching for individuals in need of assistance with identifying or fine tuning their gifts, talents and purpose. As a womanpreneur, Felicia is passionate about educating girls on the benefits of entrepreneurship and the power of enterprise development. She works to invest in future female leaders and instill in them the key skills necessary to achieve personal success.
Felicia received a M.Ed. in school counseling from the University of Southern Mississippi and a B.S. in elementary education from the College of Charleston.
Tana McKelvey is a longtime advocate of health and the sciences. Early in her career she worked with a Virginia agency in the area of HIV/AIDS research. Since then, she has continued to refine her skills, and develop talents that allow her to be an asset in the public health and health care industries. Not only has she worked in the healthcare industry domestically, but she has also had the opportunity to do so abroad. Notably, in 2012 she, along with students from The Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) and various health care professionals went on a global missions trip where they rendered health services to patients in South Africa.
Tana is also very passionate about mental health in the African American community, fashion, youth, and personal finances. She has a very strong desire to help high school seniors secure scholarships for college. She is big on giving back, and she, along with her husband, lead the Dave Ramsey Financial Peace University for their church. Additionally, they produce, edit, and host the weekly news broadcast for their church.
Tana has ownership stakes in Boutique 7 LLC, an online clothing boutique specializing in women's fashion. Tana received a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree from Indiana University and a B.S. in Biology from Norfolk State University. She has also studied health at the Medical University of South Carolina and Orangeburg-Calhoun Technical College.
Crystal’s passion for servant leadership began as an adolescent when she was elected to roles in her church, school, and community. As a result, she strives to positively influence the direction of teens and young adults. In the Rock Hill community, Crystal spent four years advising the Youth Missionary Dept., three years organizing Black History Month Talent Shows for youth, and two years leading a Tutoring Program for youth at her church. For four years she also served on the Scholarship Committee, and served as Chair of her sorority's May Week Committee that coordinates the Salute to Future Leaders Program for York County (SC) high school students. Additionally, she served as an advisor for the collegiate chapter of her sorority at Winthrop University for seven years. At present, she leads the Women's Empowerment Program for teens and young adults served by the OnRamp program for The Relatives, a Charlotte based nonprofit.
In addition to volunteer roles serving youth, Crystal has worked for a Virginia school district for two years where she went into the classrooms of their middle and high schools to provide enrichment to students in an Algebra Readiness program to increase student and school math scores on the statewide Standards of Learning (SOL) tests. Additionally, she has worked on a project for a South Carolina educational institute to ensure that principals in various school districts were aware of their support for international teachers placed there. Crystal is also an entrepreneur. She is the sole proprietor of Burns Image Consulting and Business Coaching. Additionally, she is the co-owner of Boutique 7, LLC.
Crystal graduated, cum laude, with a B.S. in Business Management and a minor in Finance from Virginia State University, and received a MBA degree in Business Administration from South University. Additionally, Crystal studied in the Master of Public Policy and Administration program at Northwestern University, and earned a certificate in Change Leadership from Cornell University.
Crystal M. Burns is a seasoned professional with nearly 15 years of organizational experience with roles enhancing skills relevant to coalition building, customer service, administration, project management, change management, research, and data analysis. To that end, she has supported projects in Corporate America, secondary education, higher education, and nonprofits. At present, she serves as an external consultant for a Fortune 100 financial institution helping them with a multi-million dollar change initiative centered on implementing new technology to improve business processes.
In addition to co-founding Just Be Academy, in her spare time she supports many public service initiatives and has served on the board of countless nonprofits. She is currently the President and Chair of the board for the Charlotte HBCU Coalition, National Parliamentarian of the Virginia State University Alumni Association, Parliamentarian of the Charlotte Chapter of the Virginia State University Alumni Association, and Treasurer of the board for Successful Options, Inc. Some of her previous board affiliations include member of the VSU Board of Visitors, President of the Charlotte Chapter of VSUAA, President and Treasurer of the Rock Hill Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta, and President and Secretary of the National Pan-Hellenic Council of Rock Hill. In addition to providing strategic direction and establishing policy for those nonprofit organizations, she has also managed administrative duties such as property management, fiscal management, etc.
